I have only just gotten internet access at the convention. I am having a great time. I am meeting lots of writers. I am going to lots of panels about writing. i am taking lots and lots of notes. I am starting a second book, even though I am not finished with the first one. I am planning to do NaNoWriMo next month. I have so many things going on in my head!! Killing me, I swear. I am so overwhelmed. It will take me the rest of October to read over and absorb all the information I have gotten so far. I won 5 free books in a drawing, 2 of those are about writing, the others are fiction. I bought a raffle ticket and won a free “critique with a published author”. So, as soon as I polish it up a bit, I am mailing 30 pages of my first book to Berta Platas and she will tell me whatever she thinks I need to know. I am afraid and excited!
I wrote down a great suggestion in one of the panels I went to yesterday. Cast actors as your characters to make them easier to visualize and stuff. So, I have already cast the actor for my hero in the second book I am starting. BUT I have no actor in mind for the first one. I may not have enough description of him to do this, but I am hoping someone can make some suggestions of actors to me. This is my very tiny character description of Rian:
“He had to be the loveliest man she’d ever seen. His blue eyes nearly glowed in his dark skinned face. His hair was black and thick and looked like the fur on a bear. Though not a tall man, he was muscular and lean. His tee was stretched across his chest in a way that made her want to touch him. His arms were beautiful, bulging and rippling as they tapered to strong hands with long fingers.”
So, I am open to any and all ideas. Feel free to just throw them out there. I plan to spend about a week at IMDB when I get home. I still have to cast my heroines too, but I find that prospect easier. I have some thoughts for those and just need to do a little research to make sure it’ll work for me.
Thanks so much! I will post again late tonight I think and then hopefully again tomorrow afternoon. I have to go to a Metallica concert tomorrow night and then I have class early on Monday. So, if I miss tomorrow afternoon it will be at least Monday night if not Tuesday before I am back on.
