My Latin teacher is offering a for-credit optional essay assignment. All one has to do is attend the Leonardo da Vinci exhibit at the High Museum of Art and write about it. Since I am hoping for an A in that class, I went to the museum today. Need to write the essay tonight. The exhibit was amazing! Leonardo was a fantastically talented person. He drew, very intricately. He painted. He sculpted, in clay, marble and bronze! He studied dead bodies to learn more about the way muscles work and move. He was an engineer. I mean, wow. What a lot of stuff for one guy to be good at! The museum trip was with my mother-in-law. She was very pleasant. I had a good time 🙂
Hmm. My little boy was very ill this morning. He was sick in his bed in the middle of the night. Then he was sick several times this morning and then it switched and he was running to the bathroom every 15 minutes for an entirely different sort of emergency. He was so miserable! He has only eaten toast all day. But, for right now, he seems to be feeling better. He is playing and he hasn’t been in the bathroom at all for about 3 hours. I hope he is past all the icky stuff and can just relax and work on improving his appetite and energy levels.
Tomorrow is the Vietnam quiz. 10% of my overall grade in American History. I think it’ll go well, but probably not a 100 or anything. Now that the last wave of big tests is behind me, I feel a lot better. I still have one big test left in each class. I am not feeling fretful about those though. I feel calm and relaxed about school. Finally. Why it had to wait until only 4 weeks of classes left, I do not know. I wish I could feel level about classes all semester long. I hate how stressed and overwrought I get. I need to work on that somehow. Maybe read a self-help book or something.
The kids have school this week, and then after Friday, they have an entire week off for the Thanksgiving holiday. Seems like an odd time for a week-long break, but whatever. My husband is taking them down to Orlando with his mother and they are going to go to Disney’s Magic Kingdom, SeaWorld and Universal Islands of Adventure. They are going to have a blast! I have classes that week, so I will be staying home. My teenager is going to stay home too. he feels that he is too old for theme parks. And he wants to have time to play D&D and Magic and DragonAge with his friends. I doubt there will be any bonding with his mom during that week.
Hubby will be staying home with our wee boy tomorrow. When hubby works from home it disrupts our afternoon schedule. Usually, each child has an hour on the PC after school. But hubby will be using the PC for work. The kids will need something else to do. The PC and the television are in the same room, so they can’t do that. I have not had much success in finding something fun to occupy them on days when he is here. I hate that they are going to be whiny and bitchy about it tomorrow. But, the boy can’t go to school sick, and I can’t skip school tomorrow. So hubby has to stay here. *sigh*
