Hmm. I might start doing this weekly. If anyone thinks that might be a good idea, please let me know!
9th made Chili for hubby and teenager, the wee ones and I had Waffle House
10th Balsamic Chicken Breasts, Artichoke Hearts, Red Potatoes and sautéed Okra
11th Ham, white Corn and pinto beans (for all but me) I had Okra
12th leftovers, I had only veggies, everyone else had Ham
13th Chicken & Wild Rice soup in the crockpot. Added a jar of Salsa
14th Ham and Eggs
15th Meatloaf and Mashed Potatoes
17th Dinner out at Fogo de Chao for hubby’s birthday. This is an all-you-can-eat Brazilian place. The main dish is all kinds of meats cooked on skewers over an open flame. OMG
The okra was a bomb. I am the only one that ate it. Hubby and the teen ate artichoke, but the wee ones wouldn’t even taste it after they had tasted the okra! The Ham was a huge hit! I just stuck the whole thing in the crockpot and cooked it on low all day. It had a lot of pot juice. Very tasty. The Chicken & Wild Rice soup was a disaster. the rice was overcooked and mushy. The broth was flavorless. I added a jar of salsa, hoping to make it taste more, but the kids hated it anyway. I ate it. Hubby added shredded cheese and ranch dressing to his. *squick* The meatloaf and the chili both turned out really good. I need to make those more often.
I shopped on Friday and bought more stuff to cook in the crockpot! I am going to utilize that thing this year, no matter what!
