The truck was late this week. Usually, the food arrives between 8 and 8:30 and the sorters arrive between 8:30 and 9. Then we sort for an hour and a half or so and that’s pretty much it. But this time, the truck with the food didn’t show until between 10 and 10:30. It pushed everything behind. It was frustrating! Plus, the warehouse isn’t heated and it was freezing in there. We rely on the physical activity to keep us warmed up. We stood around for ages while our bottoms frosted over. But, we did get good food!
This week’s produce:
green onions, maybe scallions?
Lots of yumminess! The kids are going to adore having berries. I am thrilled to have more pears. Bananas are popular here, too. Hubby is very excited about the spinach. It is one of his top favorite veggies. I am trying to eat grapefruit for breakfast most days and only had 2 left in the fridge. Now I have 7! I was also down to less than one head of garlic. So, getting more garlic is a fantastic. I cook with it nearly every day. I am not as happy with russet potatoes, but they do make a good baked side and the kids will eat them. Over all, I am still obsessing with the Co-op and the variety of foods it provides.
Happy eating everyone!
