I had a Latin test on Wednesday. Between helping my sister have a baby and being exhausted and doing the co-op and arranging home repairs, I didn’t study quite as much as I should have. Don’t get me wrong, I did study. but with all that other stuff in my head too, a lot of the Latin leaked out. I did feel better while taking the test than I did while taking the last one. I felt like I knew some of the stuff, so maybe it wasn’t too bad.
Home repairs? Ah, yes. Do you any of you remember that back in October I hit the house with the van? Yeah. We got a note from our home owner’s association telling us we had to get it fixed. I guess it might have been unsightly. I honestly didn’t think it was all that noticable. I mean, sure a little bit, if you were looking. But I didn’t think anyone was paying that much attention to our house.
Hubby told me in November that he would get in touch with the home owner’s insurance people and arrange to have it fixed anyway. Of course, he never got around to doing that. So, last week, after the HOA note, I finally had to call the insurance people myself. I then had to talk on the phone to a contractor and be home for an appointment for them to look at the house. Now I have an estimate in my email inbox that makes me want to cry. Luckily, we have a deductible. It is $500. Which we can ill-afford, but better than the amount it will take to actually fix it. turns out that little piece of wall between the garage doors is a load-bearing wall. Plus, both doors need to be replaced. *sigh*
And, I have my third Science test on Monday. I am doing terribly in that class! I plan to study a lot for the test, but that isn’t necessarily enough. Keep you fingers crossed for me!
