I did not succeed at walking any distance on Wednesday or Thursday last week. I had planned to do 2 miles each day. Then on Friday, I had a monstrous sinus headache that turned out to be a short-lived head cold. I spent all Friday and Saturday taking mounds of decongestants and pain relievers. So, no miles those days either. I hate when I fail to follow through.
Today was Sunday. I was at my sister’s most of the day. When I got home though, my nose was almost clear, my head didn’t hurt and my ears didn’t feel stuffy. So, I walked the 2 miles on the machine.
2 miles, 22.5 minutes, 245 calories
Now, I just need to do it again tomorrow.
My family is on a ski trip. I am going to take advantage of their absence to eat a lot healthier than they like. No meat most likely. A lot of raw fruits and veggies. Smoothies made with herbs and yogurt and stuff. Plus doing the 2 miles a day. And if I can convince myself, doing a 15 minute exercise tape too. I like the Abs and Arms one, but I also have one that is all Abs, one for Legs and one for Buns of Steel. I might switch it off to keep it interesting.
Oh! We watched a different version of Taming of the Shrew for class on Friday. It was a western called McLintock, starring John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara. It wasn’t a straight rendition, it just used a lot of the same elements. It was pretty funny. I would have never pegged The Duke in any variation of Shakespeare.
