Because, I have surely meant to mention how much I despise it. It makes me tired and sweaty. And even though the muscles in my legs have mercifully stopped aching, my knees have started complaining instead!
today, I walked/jogged 2 miles in 20.5 minutes and burned 242 calories.
I have been trying to improve my time. The rhythm I used today was, walk for 1 minute, jog for 3 minutes. I did that over and over until my 20 minute mark hit, then I just walked the last bit until it was 2 miles. The gazelle has this cool little display that shows your time, your distance and your calories burned. I think it may also show your miles-per-hour. I never pay attention to that one though. The whole first week or so, I just set the display to distance and trudged until I hit my mark. The last 5 times or so, I have set it to time and did as much as I could until it was 20 minutes and then switched it over to distance and kept going until it was 2 miles. I am hoping to work my way up to walking 1 minute, jogging 4 minutes soon.
I am still too worn from the cardio to start adding in the strength stuff yet. I know I keep mentioning it, but that is so that I can stay reminded. I really want to be doing the crunches and the curls and the leg lifts, but until I am comfortable with the cardio, I am just unable to add that extra stress to my body.
I have pretty much given up the thought of moving up to 3 miles any time soon. I will wait until I am happy with the 2 miles and some added strength stuff before I add more to the cardio. Cardio alone will not do what all I want to accomplish. So, upping the cardio isn’t going to be as helpful as adding the strength.
I did a whole lot of nothing today. My middle child had a playdate who came to visit. He was here for about 4 hours. It was pleasant. There wasn’t any fighting between the boys. Plus, my daughter was included enough to keep her placated, but not enough to piss off my son. It was maybe the best playdate we have ever had at our house.
Hubby and I have been watching the 3rd season of Chuck on dvd. We used to watch Chuck in its regular time slot, but then House was moved to Mondays and they come on at the same time. I am not giving up House for anything, so we gave up Chuck. I hadn’t seen any episodes of it since the 2nd season ended. I had forgotten how clever and fun it was! The 4th season is currently airing. I can hardly wait until it is on dvd as well! We only have 2 more episodes of season 3 to go. We have seen all of season 1 of Leverage. We are going to watch season 2 when we are done with Chuck. I just acquired the first 2 seasons of Mad Men. I have heard only really good things about it. I am anxious to get into it. We will wait until after Leverage though. I hope I can get seasons 3 and 4 by then. Hmm. We watch House and Castle during the week when they are on. We were watching Lie to Me, I adore Tim Roth, but the season ended and it hasn’t yet been picked up for a 4th. Any network stupid enough to not renew Tim Roth deserves to fail epicly. I really hope they renew.
Anything else on my radar? I have grown to like the perm. It is fluffy and a little crinkly and I think it looks pretty okay. I am a little worried that it will look terrible as it grows out. I do not want to have to cut off an ugly grown out perm. I want it to gradually straighten enough as it grows and leave a little body but not too much damage. *shrug* I dunno. Right now it looks decent. I want my hair to grow back long and lovely. I still miss the long hair I used to have. I would hate to have the perm turn out to be a mistake that causes me to have to start over again.
eh, That is all I got for today. HUGS HUGS HUGS
