I was thinking about the miles issue. I started a few weeks ago and have blogged about each day, but not about the general progress. Since my walk week is Wednesday to Tuesday, and today is the first of the month as well as the end of my week, I am going to tally it all up.
week 1 started February 9. During that week, I walked a total of 5 miles. According to the Gazelle, I burned 605 calories. And it took me 60 minutes.
week 2 started February 16. During that week, I walked a total of 6 miles. I burned 728 calories. And it took me 66.5 minutes.
week 3 started February 23. During that week, I walked a total of 12 miles. Burned 1452 calories. And it took me 106 minutes.
For the month of February I walked 21 miles! I can hardly believe it. And, I am 2 miles in for March already. Tomorrow starts the 4th week.
So, that is the progress I have made. I am going to try to do better than that in March. I think I will wait until the end of the month to do another tally. I was at the doctor back in January. I think it was on the 20th. I weighed 198 lbs. The 17th will be 8 weeks since then. But the 31st will be 10 weeks. Both of those are nice numbers. I am tentatively planning to slip back to the doctor on one of those dates and ask them to weigh me on their scales. I would like to see if I have actually lost any weight. I am trying to keep it from being all about the actual pounds. I do not even own a working scale myself. I try to gauge my body based on the fit of my clothes and the level of pain I have from various activities. But, knowing the numbers is good sometimes too. A more measurable part of the equation.
