today I consumed:
large bowl of honey bunches of oats with whole milk
3 slices whole wheat bread
venti non-fat latte
some popcorn shrimp
one fried broccoli ball thingy
a little bit of spinach and artichoke dip
bowl of crab bisque
1 liter of water
small plate of seafood creole pasta stuff
large cup of coffee with 4 tiny cups of half-n-half
half a bag of peanut M&Ms from the concession stand
Some friends of ours had a baby a few days ago. The 26th to be precise. We went to visit them for the first time today. It was so sweet! I love little babies. I might love all babies. I dunno. I am finally over the horrible biological clock business that I went through a few years ago, so I don’t crave a baby of my own. But it was lovely to hold and feed and burp this tiny little guy. *sigh*
My teeny tiny little daughter is no longer so teeny tiny. Yesterday she started her third period. She turned 11 in November. She had a period in June, one in September, and this one now. She is growing up so fast! I miss her being my wee little punkin’ girl. She’s wearing bras and she’s only 3 inches shorter than me and her shoes are already bigger than mine. The time when they are young passes so quickly. I feel so old.
Tonight Hubby and I had a date! We went to some Chinese Dance Performance thingy. The costumes were pretty. Lots of gauzy stuff and bright colors. The dances were like a combination of ballet and gymnastics. I didn’t care much for the music. And the more dances they did, the more political and protest-like the subject matter became. Turned out, the Shen Yun Performing Arts people are some spiritual group called Falan Dafa and they are illegal in China. The final dance was called Divine Mercy and the Falan Dafa people were praying and converting other Chinese people and the police showed up and started beating them with billy sticks and then China was partially destroyed in a volcanic earthquake thingy and some spiritual guy in a yellow robe with blue hair came and returned China to pristine condition and a golden Buddha smiled over the ending. I don’t even know.
