I have a tough time with resolutions. I make them sometimes, but I keep them very seldom. The closest I came was about 4 years ago when I maintained my resolutions until May. After then, it all petered out. I haven’t even really bothered the last couple years. I know I have things that I should change. I know I am too lazy and unmotivated to change most stuff. So this year, my resolutions are tentative.
1. Eat less sweets and junk food.
2. Eat out only twice per month.
3. Make at least 2 A’s per semester this year.
4. Keep downstairs clean enough for comfortable company.
5. Clean out my own room. OMG it is a disaster in there!
So, that is it. I might say I want to blog more often, but I will just blog when I can and there isn’t a lot else I can say about that. So far, I am doing well with the junk food bit. Today is the 3rd and I haven’t had any sweets except ONE can of coca-cola a day. And no other junk food at all. I did eat pasta on the 1st. But, I don’t think that counts as junk, just a poor starch choice. I’ll make an effort to buy more whole wheat pasta for when we do have pasta.
The eating out one is all about spending less. Hubby’s car is in the shop right now and it is going to cost us a small fortune to get it back. If I can keep the eating out down to a bare minimum, we can send a little more money to the credit card people.
Back in November, I was trying to clean out a bunch of junk. I had a charity pickup one day that month and we offloaded 6 big bags of stuff. On the 1st, we had another pickup and sent away 1 large bag, 3 medium bags and 3 small bags of stuff. I am not making a resolution about this because I do give to charity at least 2 or 3 times a year already. I am making a note to try to give more stuff each time though.
And, that’s me for now. The kids are back home. School starts back for them on Tuesday. Hubby goes back Monday, I am still out until the 11th.
Happy late New Year!
Sounds good! I never make resolutions…it’s too much. I think these are good and reasonable, though! You can do it!
If you’re motivated by cravings like I am, a few days of cold turkey will get you off the junk food.
Not eating out will require a little meal time planning. I have a go-to list of things that are easy to make & serve (half hour from start to finish) and just make sure that I buy the ingredients every time I go food shopping.
I only resolve to do, or not do, things that I have enthusiasm for. This year I didn’t make any except for watching my Netflix movies in a more timely manner.
I might also try your pulled pork in the crockpot.
Please don’t get any more of the whole wheat pasta, that stuff was nasty!
Is it better than no pasta? (I think all pasta is suspect)
